Drywall Repair & Maintenance
Drywall needs to be repaired and maintained periodically because since World War II Drywall is the material most commonly used to construct Interior walls in houses. It is quicker to install than plaster. Drywall can puncture or dent more easily than plaster but it is easier for the average homeowner to repair. Small dents and small holes can be repaired using a substance called joint compound. It applies smoothly and sands very smoothly. It usually takes 24 hours to dry and it shrinks and cracks so you will need 2 or more layers to level off the wall surface. TIP--keep your joint knife clean while working to avoid lumps ,bumps, and uneven application of joint compound. Do not contaminate fresh joint compound when you repair your DRYWALL.
